Winston & Adrienne // Atlantic Center for the Arts Intimate Wedding

I sure love me some intimate weddings - Winston & Adrienne's was no exception. It was such a relaxed day & it truly felt like Adrienne & Winston were slowly soaking in each drop. They leisurely got ready with the help of their parents, then braved the rain for some portraits. The literal moment we stepped outside for the first look, the skies unleashed. With a little bit a sweet talking, we were able to convince an art gallery manager to open after hours so we could duck inside while it monsooned. This "Plan B" turned out to be the best thing we could have asked for- portraits in an art gallery are pretty much a giant YES for me.

My favorite moment of the day (& probably top five for weddings this year) was the holy space that came immediately after Adrienne & Winston were pronounced husband & wife. They both exited the chapel, tears streaming down their face & spent the next few minutes in this sacred atmosphere of emotion. I felt so honored to bear witness & I've choked up every single time I scroll through that portion of the images.

It truly was a special day with two incredibly tender, kind, warm & intentional people.

Winston & Adrienne, you are lovely.

Eric & Mackenzie // Elopement

This fall I've gotten extremely lucky with some amazing small wedding/elopement clients. Just a few weeks ago I shared one of my all time favorites, Matt & Ash's Lookout Mountain elopement, and today, I've got another incredible one for you!

Eric & Mackenzie wed in Fontana Dam, North Carolina in the most spectacular mountain home owned by Mackenzie's parents. It's totally different than your typical mountain lodge, but it's completely amazing & 100% my dream. Everything about the weekend was so cool. The 15 or so guests took over a neighboring motel & the beautiful home was the hub for all the fun festivities. Every detail was of impeccable style, not to mention the food was legitimately out of this world. All meals for the weekend were catered by Orlando based company, D'Lish Catering Co., and it was all next level- each meal even better than the last!

It was a sweet, intimate weekend of celebration & gathering of friends. Eric & Mackenzie's families were so kind & warmly welcomed me into every activity. After 3 days, several shared meals, & wedding festivities, I left on Sunday feeling like part of the family. It really is so special & unique to be a part of a celebration where you have the opportunity to spend so much time with a couple & know all their wedding guests by name. Have I mentioned just how much I love small weddings/elopements?!

Eric, Mackenzie, & their daughter make for a seriously attractive crew & they were so kind, relaxed, & go with the flow. Even when the schedule ran late & we found ourselves shooting their portraits after the sun set, they fully embraced it which made for some super cool moody images! Plus their crazy good style was just an extra bonus.  All in all, everything was delightful!  Thanks so much for having me as part of your weekend, you two! :)
