The Lail's // Cloudy Orlando Family Session

I always talk about how much I love photographing families- but what I love even more is the opportunity to photograph families overtime & document them as they grow. I first met the Lail’s a few years back in an at home newborn session for their first daughter. Here we are now, years later, with new additions & this time playing in a field, but still as cute as ever.

It had been raining all day- Corrie & I were texting back & forth trying to decide whether or not to reschedule. Ultimately, we went for it & I’m so glad we did. The drizzle stopped just as we were arriving & the clouds made for a cozy vibe. Wrangling the babies & convincing toddlers to smile is a near impossible feat, but we had fun trying & I love the realness of these images.

Cheers to more sessions together & watching your sweet family grow!

The Ferraro's // A Sunset Field Family Session

Man, I love photographing families. There is something so beautiful about the craziness, the unpredictability, the chaos. Without fail, the kids never do what you want them to. They rarely smile on command or stand in the perfect light. But they run through the grass laughing, roll in the dirt grinning ear to ear, kiss their sibling as they wrestle them to the ground & hug their dads neck as he swings them into the air. I’m not a parent, but if I were, that’s what I would want hanging on my walls anyways. I would want to see my family just as they are- not totally in line, but having fun while trying.

The Ferraro’s were incredible. They simply existed in this field, hanging out & trusting me to capture them just as they were- happy, content, & loving on one another.

Keith & Andia // Intimate At Home Maternity Session

We settled onto the floor of their living room. It was raining, there was a Laura Mvula record playing over the sound of the drizzle. When Andia scheduled the session a few weeks before, the significance of the date was lost in the bustle of coordinating calendars, but sitting there then, exactly 1 year to the day, since their dear son was laid to rest, it felt divinely arranged. I watched as Keith & Andia each created a piece of art inspired by the memory of their son. They worked quietly, periodically breaking to exchange a smile or admire the others progress.

The pieces were hung by their bed, followed by a slow dance of covenant embraces. With every sway, every step, I could feel their joyful anticipation for this new child filling the room. Andia's radiant smile, they way her head tilted towards the heavens in laughter. Keith's tender grasp on her stomach, the gaze in his eyes when they were resting on her.

It was holy ground.

The Shahi's // A Playful Winter Park Family Session

I first met Jay & Maria back in September when we ran around a downtown Orlando parking garage snapping some maternity photos. It was amazing to reunite last month, but this time with their freakinnngggg adorable son. The storm clouds rolled in as we played, but they pressed on & we had a great time. Jay & Maria , ya'll are such fun, silly people & I love getting to enter in to little moments in your lives.

Hope to see ya'll again soon! <3

The Hollar's // Manhattan Beach Ice Cream Family Adventure

I'd be lying if I said family photos with a newborn & the highest energy 2.5 year old around was a breeze, but if you have kids, you already knew that! One thing is for sure...ice cream makes it a heck of a lot easier. Abby, Julian & gang were down to get messy so we walked around Manhattan Beach until all our ice cream had melted, our pants were sufficiently sprinkle covered, & the California sun was setting into the Pacific.

Enjoy this little afternoon session of one of my all time favorite families in life.

The Robertsons // At Home Family & Newborn

Two years ago, we woke before the sun & took engagement photos in the foggy, dewy light of morning. Then a few months after that, I watched as they promised forever on a St. Augustine rooftop. I was so excited when Christen told me she was pregnant & even more excited when she asked me to do maternity & newborn photos.

Baby Clyde is a gem & it was so fun watching Bryan & Christen as parents. I'm so thankful to join them in these milestones & hope there are many more.

Now enough words, just go look at these sweeties!
